What they were dealing with
MEW supplies, fits, services and repairs boiling water taps across the North West, the North East, the Midlands and parts of Scotland. The old site sold taps through a shop basket, with every finish listed as a separate product, so a customer could not easily see what a tap would cost once it was fitted. The owner wanted prices shown plainly and every route to end in a conversation with her team, not a checkout.
What we did about it
Every tap sits in a catalogue with its finishes and its fitted price, so a customer sees the whole cost before they ask. Installation, servicing and repairs each have their own page, and the areas covered are spelled out rather than left to a phone call.
A short checklist asks the three things that decide whether a tap will fit: a socket under the sink, room for the tank and filter, and a hole for the tap. The answers travel with the booking, along with a photo of the cupboard, so the fitter knows what they are walking into.
Behind the site the owner has her own admin area. Enquiries land there, she books visits from them, and the customer is emailed when a visit is booked, moved or cancelled, with a calendar invite and a reminder the day before.
Customers can sign up for a free email when their tap's filter is due for a change, so the next service starts with a reminder rather than with somebody remembering.
